Skyld Presence at European Cyber Week
Skyld was proud to participate in this year’s European Cyber Week, contributing to key discussions and workshops focused on the future of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence in defense.
Skyld at the Cyber Use Case Gallery
Skyld took part in the Cyber Use Case Gallery, where the team attended the opening keynote by Farida Poulain, General Manager of the Campus Cyber, who addressed a central question for the industry: “Choosing French cyber technology: myth or reality?” Her intervention highlighted the strategic importance of sovereignty and trust in cyber technologies.
Contributing to the “Trustworthy AI for Defense” Workshop
Skyld was also honored to speak at the “Trustworthy AI for Defense” workshop, organized by Thales. This session gathered experts to share insights on integrating artificial intelligence into defense and other critical systems.
Discussions highlighted the key challenges of AI security, including adversarial examples, jailbreaking, data poisoning and model extraction, as well as intergration requirements.
During the workshop, Marie Paindavoine, CEO of Skyld, presented the company’s approach to protecting AI models against reverse engineering and unauthorized reuse. Her intervention emphasized the importance of securing AI systems as they are expected to take critical décisions.
**Showcasing Research at the AI for Defense Conference (CAID) **
Skyld also contributed to the 7th Conference on Artificial Intelligence for Defense, a flagship event within European Cyber Week that brings together major stakeholders across land, air, sea, cyber, intelligence, and command domains.
Victor Guyomard presented Skyld’s latest research on on-device model extraction and how such techniques can be leveraged to induce systematic misclassification. This work was illustrated on the real-world use case of SafetyCore, an on-device AI on Android phones for content moderation.
Contributing to the Cyber Innovation Ecosystem
Finally, Skyld contributed to broader ecosystem efforts through its participation in the Cyber Excellence Cluster’s White Paper on innovation, coordinated by Nadine Priam, Jean-Luc Gibernon, and Benoit Wintrebert. Developed through a unique collaboration between researchers, industry leaders, startups, public institutions, and entrepreneurs, this publication offers a comprehensive perspective on the future of cyber innovation in Europe.
The white paper explores the national dynamics shaping today’s cybersecurity landscape, highlights inspiring journeys from leading figures in the ecosystem, including our CEO Marie Paindavoine, as well as the french and european initiatives to support sovereign innovations.
